If your patient’s parent lived away from home for more than few days for agricultural work during the last two years and the child traveled with them, they are eligible for accelerated benefits. Agricultural work includes any work such as farming, ranching or working in a processing plant to prepare crops, dairy products, poultry or livestock for sale.
Our PR staff has implemented a validation process for providers to identify Children of Migrant Farm workers on their own through a questionnaire to survey members. The PR staff also supplies providers with stickers to mark each identified and confirmed MFW in the patient record.
If your patient is part of a MFW family, please let us know by calling 1-800-327-0016. Our goal is to help arrange for any services the patient may need before they travel.
